It will be the last total lunar eclipse until December 20, 2010.

Eclipses occur only at full moon when the Sun, Earth and Moon are in a perfect line.

Because the Moon's orbit around Earth is not perfectly aligned with the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun, eclipses do not occur at every full moon.

The moon will enter Earth's shadow at 8:43 p.m. ET (that's 7:43 p.m. Central, 6:43 p.m. Mountain and 5:43 p.m. Pacific) on Wednesday, Feb. 20. So, will be able to see IT, inshallah, before dawn today...

Unlike solar eclipses, [protective eyeglasses needed], lunar eclipses are safe to view with the naked eye. So arm yourself with a telescope and sit back comfortably, pray for a clear weather and wait for Godot or... the total eclipse phase. It's likewise!!

Anything, everything and all things have been said about Lebanon and its people; whereby, Beirut, the city, my city has been embodying all possible superlatives but many dreadful qualifications too, depending on the nature of the chaos that reigns. Nonetheless, Chaos is Beirut’s middle name. And I guess, we, all very much, agree on that one. Beautiful or messed up, Chaos (yes, with a big C, mind you!) is always an interesting state to delve into and swing with, as we go on exploring its terrain or potential ramifications. The sharpest depiction of my chaotic-beloved Beirut has always been a tag that goes like this: “Crazy - Charmeuse - Chaotic Heyya Madinatee.” Even the language(s) we speak is as messed up as the country itself; an outspoken Chaos that is!

Consider everything an experiment

These are some good rules to live by, drawn by the students of Sister Corita Kent of the Immaculate Heart College, L.A. Corita Kent was a nun of the sixtees, and a teacher too, at the art department at the Immaculate Heart College. But above all that, she was an artist who devoted her life to conveying artistic messages of optimism and peace. Kent created several hundred serigraph designs, for posters, book covers, and murals. Her screen prints grabbed media attention and she was on the cover of Newsweek. Sister Corita Kent had an unusual yet fascinating life. Her work includes the 1985 Love Stamp of which 700 million pieces [of stamps] were sold.

Kent’s art reflects her spirituality, her commitment to social justice, her hope for peace and her delight in “the world that takes place all around us.”

I came across this perfect flag, that actually looked more for me, like a rendered version of the KSA's; or a smoother vision of the pirates'. In fact, IT IS inspired by those gangsters of another rage; however, the person behind this thoughtful design had more of a reflective thought on piracy in the New Age, the Networked Age. Propaganda-fed citizens

I just can't get enough of ads' parody, subverted logos, and graphic manipulations of super brands . Maybe it's a way to remind myself that the world is twisting too fast...And then, let such a thought trigger the usual... An existential anxiety that would go on to precipitate my mind in all directions, and have my neurones -- or what is left of them-- roll and refresh... Another reason, could also be to reassure myself that I agree with the likes of Adbusters and Kasle Lasne and I should stop thinking and agreeing, rather acting and engaging myself in what every cause I believe in... That post has already diminished my guilt trip since posting these images and letting the blog roll is already one adbusting action. Provided the messages get to someone through this post; and naturally, someone somewhere would start thinking that he, too, should start acting Adbusters mode. Enjoy this delicious propaganda-fed citizens; it is good stuff and definitely refreshing parody for every brain.

Grass in Vending Machines

It happens that sometimes -- actually so many times'; although in Lebanon, it's not available at every corner-, I find that vending machines are one hell of an invention. They are always here waiting to be clicked or banged on to serve you their offerings. For people, like me- obviously, (whith no notion of time, discipline, organisation, time management, u name it!) may find themselves in the most ackward situation, if distributors of anything never existed: condoms could be life saviour for many, even though never had to look for that one; but when it comes to munchies, coffee, soft drinks, and mostly cash am just in love with the machine. But here is the most surprising machine distributor of it all: Mary Jane just in a click...Believe it or not! M-A-R-Y J-AN-E Actually, it's not that simple but it's so true. The real deal is that you can get medical marijuana, from Anytime Vending Machines. AVMs are 24/7 machines housed in standalone rooms, abutting two dispensaries and protected by round-the-clock security guards -- like ATMs for people combating psychological withdrawal with a physical one. After cinching up your doctor's consultation, hit an AVM location to get your prescription approved, fingerprint taken, and a prepaid credit card loaded with your profile: dosage (3.5 or 7 grams, up to 1oz a week) and strain preference (choice of five, including OG Cush and Granddaddy Purple, the mildly hallucinogenic forebear to Prince). Sarkosy at Disneyland

Is Sarkosy perceived as an American by-product? This visual seems to indicate so. Gilles Dupuis, a French graphic designer -- I got to discover online, sent me yesterday, this amusing illustration of Sarko impersonated in Mickey Mouse. He looks funny but, I think, it reflects well the French president’s dynamism; I sensed Sarkosy’s punch, felt he’s about to jump out of the picture. However, I think Dupuis’s message is unmistakable and manages to convey the idea of Sarkosy being an American fan. Substituting and tampering such recognisable icons are common satiric conceits. And this one does mirror a dominant feel among the French people, of Sarkosy being clearly pro Bush; as Mickey, the French president definitely looks like a devotee to the American cowboy, a sentiment that hasn’t made the French particularly enthusiastic about it. Dupuis used this graphic icon to send the message that receivers, as well as creators, of graphic messages have a responsibility to seek out the truth - Since the Vietnam war, corporate logos and and manifold symbols have been target of indignation and outrage (for the morally questionable implications and acts). This visual is eerily resonant and it surely has a character; it makes me smile each time I look at it, and I have the feeling that Nicolas is about to bring some good entertainment to France. Hell yes, Allez Sarko! France needs some peps; it needs someone to erase the dull image that has been sticking on the hexagon’s back, for a while now. It’s time to PUMP IT UP! Dupuis’s graphic works are mostly imprint with social awareness and extreme wit and lightness. It speaks about stuff that matter with no pompous tone; he never appears like someone dictating moral behaviour; rather, his graphic minimalism makes you pause and meditate substantial social issues on a twisted 'musical' tone but great awareness. Ma Boule is simply charmed! I LIKE & LAUGH... Merci Gilles :0)
